About me.
Hi I am Sarah Biduke a registered holistic nutritionist, personal trainer and lover of food!
My love for cooking came at a very young age. My mom loved cooking and hosting, so a lot of our time together was spent in the kitchen. As I chopped away, I would be watching her as she would be preparing the main course. I was certainly not a picky eating, anything put in front of me I was willing to try!
Fast forward several years later, I was off to university and living on my own. University is when I really started exploring recipes and experimenting in the kitchen. I followed a lot of food bloggers and was obsessed with reading cookbooks. At the time veganism was gaining popularity and I started exploring the diet and cooking mostly vegetarian. Not really sure what to do with my arts degree I decided to enroll myself in the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition after I graduated university. At the same time I got a job at Rawlicious, a raw vegan restaurant. While studying optimal health and working hands on in the raw vegan restaurant my love for the kitchen grew more and more.
Shortly after graduating from CSNN and becoming a holistic nutritionist, I decided I wanted to educate people about wellness through food. In 2015, my business partner and I started Humble Roots Organic which started out as a raw vegan desserts company that turned into a vegan/vegetarian café that specialized in gluten-free products. From farmers markets to finding our little kitchen in Newmarket. We ran this business successfully for 10 years. Together we decided it was time for a new chapter and we decided to close in December 2024.
Today I still have that same burning desire to help people heal through food. Which pushed me back to exploring the art of food blogging. It certainly feels like a full circle moment! So here it is, Wellness with Sarah Biduke your source for nourishing & healthy recipes passed on from my family to yours. Bon appetite!
